1. The raw materials required for brewing are different 

Craft beer: The raw materials used are malt, hops, brewer's yeast, water, without any additives. No matter the amount of malt or hops added is higher than that of industrial beer, so the concentration of wort will be much higher than that of industrial beer. Of course, we are more cautious in the selection of raw materials, and we will choose the best raw materials for brewing.

Industrial beer: Malt, hops, brewer’s yeast, and water are also selected as raw materials, but in order to reduce costs, raw materials such as rice, starch, and corn are used instead of malt, and some additives are even added to achieve the effect! Therefore, the taste of industrial beer is light, and the aroma of malt and hops can hardly be smelled.


2. The fermentation process is different 

Craft beer: Ayer craft is mostly used. Beer yeast is fermented on the fermentation tank, and the fermentation temperature is generally controlled to 10-20 degrees Celsius. The volume of the fermenter is small, and no filtration and sterilization are performed after the fermentation is completed.

Industrial beer: lager process is the majority, and beer yeast is fermented under the fermentation tank, and the fermentation temperature is generally controlled below 10 degrees Celsius. The fermenter has a large volume, and after the fermentation is completed, it will be filtered and sterilized to ensure long-term storage.


3.The output is different 

Craft beer: Because it is high-quality goods and rich in characteristics, the output is not large.

Industrial beer: The output is very large, so the taste requirements are lowered to achieve "popularity". The lighter the taste, the easier it is to accept.

4.The development history is different 

Craft beer: It was first produced by women to ensure that the family survived the harsh environment. Later, due to the large market demand and large profits of craft beer, it has developed rapidly.

Later, because of the emergence of refrigeration equipment, industrial beer that is not easy to deteriorate and has stable quality became popular.

Industrial beer: In the 19th century, German brewers brought the fermentation process to Pilsen and produced golden beer—Pilsner beer (industrial beer). Later, due to the appearance of refrigeration equipment, this Pilsner beer and brewing method It became popular.

This popular beer was brought to the United States, but there was less barley in the United States, so corn, starch, etc. were used instead of barley to brew, and today's American industrial beer was gradually formed.


5. Different styles and nutritional value 

Craft beer: Because there are many types of malt, hops, and brewer’s yeast, and different combinations can produce different flavors, there are many styles of craft beer, and now it has incorporated the preferences of the local people, and the styles are even more diverse.

Because of the high content of malt, hops, and brewer's yeast, craft beer is rich in various substances that are beneficial to the body, and its nutritional value naturally becomes higher.

Industrial beer: Due to the large output, the same quality and taste are required, so the style has become single.

In order to control the cost of raw materials, both the content of hops and the concentration of wort are very low. After sterilization and filtration, there is no active yeast in the beer, and additives are added, which greatly reduces the nutritional value of industrial beer.


6. Storage time 

Craft beer: Many craft beers have not been sterilized and filtered, and the liquor contains active yeast, so the storage time is short, and some can only be stored for dozens of days.

Industrial beer: After sterilization and filtration, the storage time will be quite long, generally 1-2 years.
