Every Vessel of craft beer equipment needs to be cleaned when in use. The following is a description of CIP equipment for contamination cleaning.
1. The necessity of cleaning beer equipment
During the production process, due to various reasons, some dirt may be deposited on the inner surface of each container and pipe. Dirt particles include oils, dry yeast, hop resins, beer stones, proteins and minerals. They stick to or deposit on the interior surfaces of equipment and pipes, making surfaces rough and difficult to clean, while also providing breeding grounds for bacteria. At the same time, the effect of the fungicide is reduced.
2. The purpose of cleaning craft beer equipment
The main goal of CIP cleaning equipment is to remove the fouling film and transfer the minerals produced from the aforementioned healthy proteins and carbohydrates as high as possible. Considering that the fungicide can only destroy the bacteria on the surface of the dust, the bacteria entering the inside of the dust may be additionally produced and increase recontamination, so the whole colony should be cleaned before sanitation.
3. The importance of cleaning craft beer equipment
The growth rate of craft beer is very fast, so the cleanliness and sanitation requirements of breweries are becoming more and more strict. Whether it is the environmental sanitation of the production site or the cleanliness of the craft beer equipment, there are actually greater requirements. The manufacture of craft beer requires not only high-quality beer equipment, but also cleaning to improve the biological stability and taste stability of craft beer.
For craft beer equipment below 2000L, CIP cleaning equipment is usually only equipped with lye storage tanks and sanitary storage tanks. Mounted on a stainless steel cart, it can be repositioned to wash on specific equipment for cycle cleaning. Due to the tight connection of the pipes, the loss of cleaning liquid is much smaller, which is very suitable for such small-capacity craft brewing equipment, and the price is not high. Very practical.
There are domestic electric heating pipes on the lye storage tank and a control box on the cleaning vehicle, and the domestic heating will definitely stop when the collection temperature level is reached. In domestic heating, the cleaning of raw materials is very extensive, and after cleaning, the lye used is returned to the container. In general, this combination of CIP carts is still very cost-effective. With the steady development of automation modern technology, the automatic control of the cleaning program composed of PLC and touch screen has actually emerged as the times require, which can meet the needs of some customers who have higher requirements for automation.
4. CIP equipment
There is a lot of CIP equipment used in craft breweries, usually with acid storage tanks, lye storage tanks, sanitary storage tanks, clean and sterile water containers, and warm water containers, which are placed on the ground and cared for. The pickling container is used to save acid cleaning agent, and the purpose of pickling is to remove unnatural dust generated in the system, such as calcium and magnesium salts, etc. The lye storage tank is used to store alkaline cleaning agents. Many of these are heated by heavy duty steam coils and jackets. They are heated by means of heat exchangers, i.e. extracorporeal blood circulation for home heating and worry-free maintenance. Sterilized water containers, water is pre-treated by sand filtration and then sterilized by UV light to clean recurring fungicides and improve the sterility of the system. The hot water tank can be heated by the same heat exchanger as the antacid storage tank. Warm water removes lye deposits faster and is also used for thermal hygiene in the blood circulation of the pipes. Cooled water is more trustworthy than clean sterile water, so if you have a warm water container, you usually won't have a clean sterile water storage tank.
