10 barrel Brewery equipment unit:

Our brewhouses have control box at ground level near the grain-out door with emergency stops. The ground-level control box allows the brewer to have the needed rake controls immediately nearby during grain-out. We don't think brewers should have to run back up onto the brew deck to adjust or stop the rakes.

Mash/lauter tun

Our commercial mash tuns utilize several design tricks to improve work-flow. In addition to the previously mentioned control advantages, the height of the mash tun was purposely designed to fit above a selection of grain collection containers for easy transportation of spent grain via forklift or pallet jack.

The agitator in the mash vessel is to stir the mash to allow uniform heating if step mashing is employed. "

A true mash tun does not have an agitator. The arms shown are discharge rakes only. Mash in a mash tun has to use an isothermal mash, no heating & no agitation, because if you try and heat, you have to mix to ensure even heating. If you mix, you knock the air out of the mash. The mash then sits on the plates and tends to block them. Then you need to have rakes to break the bed up and allow the sparge liquor to percolate evenly through the mash to get good, even extract. In other words - a lauter tun

If you need to step mash, then you need a separate mash mixing vessel with heating and mixing arms, or separate mash mixing and mash heating vessels, and a separate lauter tun.

Kettle/whirlpool tun

Our commercial series kettles come with extra insulation, integrated whirlpool, process view drain, CIP, and other useful features that make it stand out. Seen here is our 10 barrel commercial series kettle being filled during a process test.

Plate heat exchanger

After the kettle, our dual-stage plate heat exchanger and inline oxygenation system combine to finish the hot side and transfer the wort to the fermenter.

Hot Liquor Tanks

As an option we can build Hot Liquor Tanks in a variety of sizes applicable to your brewing needs. Our commercial series HLT's have an integrated pump which controls recirculation for even heating and controls distribution of hot water to the brewhouse. Our commercial HLT's are ready to pair with our turn-key systems.

The quality service DEGONG can provide

The best thing is: The DEGONG can be retrofitted to existing plants without much effort.Your benefits at a glance:

  • More flexible wort boiling technology with boiling: Thermal conversion processes and evaporation are independent from each other

  • Homogeneous wort mixing in the wort kettle

  • Technological flexibility

  • Economical and technological advantages

  • Energy savings due to low evaporation

  • Internal reboiler system uses a shell heat exchanger located inside the kettle. Wort is forced through the boiler mechanically. It's designed to minimized shear force and less heat loss.
